It’s time for Hip-Hop to wake up from the deep sleep coma it’s been in and stop sleeping on one of the hottest artist’s out of Philadelphia at the moment. In the UK there has been a backlash against US Rap for a few years and in a week where we got sent music by a white kid called Slim Jesus this album is somewhat refreshing break! All faith is restored though now as Hip-Hop is back in the building, so let us take this chance to introduce you to Rich Quick.

If the name sounds familiar it might because he recently did a tour with the infamous Beats & Bars crew here in the UK playing everywhere from London to Birmingham to Stoke and more, as well as rocking out in Europe. Rich has been unleashing instantly quotable lines for years now, actually since he was really young, and now finally it seems he is getting the credit he deserves for his unbridled lyricism.

This debut solo album from Rich Quick drops on the well respected Soulspazm Records, a record label that over a decade deep in the game and have brought us some great releases in the past from Grand Agent, Supastition, Hezekiah, Marco Polo, Wordsworth, JR & PH7, DJ Revolution, Koncept, Craig G and many more. With features from the likes of Big Pun’s son Chris Rivers, Reef The Lost Cauze, Rakaa Iriscience from Dilated Peoples, Lewis Parker and more, here is an album you bump from start to finish.

Here is a rapper that is comfortable in his own skin and sticks to his lane. His honesty and realistic approach to what he does is part of the appeal that makes his music so genuine. After bumping this superb long player you really feel like you get an insight into the ‘Everywhere Man’, an independent artist striving to spread his message and music. Rich Quick shines much brighter than most underground rappers and maybe that’s down to his diversity, skill and passion. Stop sleeping on Rich Quick and pre-order the album so you get it when it drops on 28th September.
